Protest

I've lived in Hawaii for the entirety of my life, and I never thought that I would be witness to such a vehement protest.
On my college campus today, a Born-Again Christian group protesting homosexuality (among other things) brought its radical (the elitist kind, not the hip, 90's slang type) message to an unwilling audience. My first thought at hearing their bellicose message was this: "This is the kind of stuff you only see on the Mainland!" (apologies to those who live on the continent, I mean no disrespect)
I simply found it to be incredible that a group with such a divisive message would spend time and money to come all the way to Hawaii simply to promulgate an unfavorable message to such a hostile audience.

For those wondering, I am completely for equality and support rights of those with lifestyles different from my own. But, I also support the right of everyone to say what they truly believe. While I am saddened by these individuals aggressive message (apparently, I'm going to hell with everyone else), I also support their right to voice their opinions.

Regardless, I am still debating whether or not to make a "[citation needed]" sign... (read more xkcd)
